Thinking about a Career in Construction?

A career in construction is many things – challenging, hard work and, most importantly, rewarding.

There is still a big demand for skilled craftsmen with many large projects such as the 2012 Olympics. Start your course now and be ideally placed to take advantage of your new skills as soon as the house building market picks up.

You need to be a good team player, be aware of the environment around you, work quickly and accurately, be safety conscious and enjoy working in different places. Barnfield offers a range of courses which will give you the skills, knowledge and know-how to succeed in this area. All courses are based at our Technology Campus in Enterprise Way, where you will have access to large workshops allowing for full-scale building projects. Students from the construction department have taken part in many competitions and are often called upon to take part in local projects and help in the community. Recent projects have seen students constructing pathways for local junior schools – providing excellent hands-on experience in a very rewarding environment. The department covers a wide variety of courses including Brickwork and Painting. Whatever your interest or skill level Barnfield will have a course to help you take that next valuable step.
