All courses are based at our Technology Campus in Enterprise Way, where you will have access to large workshops allowing for full-scale building projects. Students from the construction department have taken part in many competitions and are often called upon to take part in local projects and help in the community. Recent projects have seen students constructing pathways for local junior schools – providing excellent hands-on experience in a very rewarding environment. The department covers a wide variety of courses from Brickwork and Painting & Decorating through to Civil Engineering. Harry Hubbard, who completed part of his apprenticeship at Barnfield College, finished fourth in the plastering category in the national SkillBuild finals and was awarded Best First-Year Student in Plastering by British Gypsum. Harry, who described the teaching at Barnfield as “brilliant”, works for his family firm in Essex.
