Rewarding Apprenticeships

An Apprenticeship offers a great alternative to full-time college for many 16-24 year olds – a real job with real pay and real skills. Working for a company in an area of your choice, you will receive regular wages and structured training, which will lead to a nationally recognised qualification.

As an apprentice learning a trade, you will
receive structured training at work and also attend college to acquire underpinning knowledge and vocational training. Apprenticeship qualifications include NVQs with nationally recognised awarding bodies.

Key skills are also extremely important in today’s business world. You can therefore expect to receive training in numeracy, communications, IT and problem-solving skills. The development of self-learning skills is encouraged. Along the way, you will receive guidance and support from your liaison officer and dedicated assessor.

At Barnfield, we work closely with more than 150 local companies to provide openings for apprentices in both the private and public sector. We pride ourselves on the range of key employers included on our partnership list. Apprenticeships are available in many different sectors.

Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are usually a two-year programme although they can be shorter – it all depends on the needs of the employing business and your own ability. Apprenticeships can lead to an Advanced Apprenticeship programme, which lasts three to four years, and can also be a stepping-stone to university, college or other learning centres.

Barnfield offers Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships.
